Services

Yttermed supports the medical product from the first feasibility studies and facilitates the way to regulatory approvals, by producing the necessary test results and documentation for the completion of the product technical file.

Feasibility

Feasibility studies, product specifications, concept and process proposals, 3D mock-ups.

Process validation

Manufacturing, cleaning, contamination control, packaging, management of biocompatibility tests and sterilization validation.

Product and process development

CAO conception, internal prototyping, network of partners (academic and industrial), risk analyses. Micro-assemblies, laser micro‐welding.

Industrialization

Development of process and tooling, work instructions, machine integration and industrialization with partners (automation, vision).

Design verification

Contract tests and measures: tensile testing, fatigue testing, accelerated aging. Realization of test benches. Manufacturing of test units (pre-series).

Manufacturing

Medical manufacturing in controlled environment, contract assembling, pre-series, clinical units.

Skills

With in-house workshop and 3D-printing capabilities, internal prototyping is realized with a "rapid development" spirit. Yttermed's equipment, focused on R&D and prototyping, allows to applying advanced techniques, as laser micro-welding, parylene deposition or He-leak testing, to prototypes.

Design and development

CAO / DAO, 3D-printing, "rapid development", feasibility mock-ups.

Medical device design

Minimally invasive medical devices, active and passive implant, design of complex medical devices and components. Internal prototyping and testing.

Engineering

Micro-mechanical design, mechanical assemblies, flexible movement transmission. Medical manufacturing, process and machine integration.

Laser micro-welding

Continuous (cw) and pulsed laser micro-welding, welding with complex geometries (scanning and fixed optics), heterogeneous welding, biocompatible materials: Ti, Pt, stainless steels, MP35N, Au, Nb.

Medical regulations

Design control, risk analysis, product technical file, regulatory compliance of product, process and documentation.

INNOVATION IN MEDICAL DESIGN
AND LASER MICRO-WELDING

Yttermed controls the handling and assembling of biocompatible materials, metals, plastics, adhesives and silicones.
Advanced processes, as laser micro-welding and parylene deposition, are applied to prototyping, thanks to a specific equipement focused on innovation and development.
